Demostration
Exposure of farmers to best practices in agriculture and demonstration/visits
The groups associated with the self-help plan are exposed to new varieties of different crops, IPM, INM, IMD and animal husbandry, fisheries, beekeeping, vermicomposting, poultry farming etc. by the new research done by the Agricultural University. Demonstrations are arranged on the field or plot of the farmers. These demonstrations help the farmers to get information about new technology and scientific approach in agriculture. These demonstrations are based on the concept of “Learning by Doing” and “Seeing is Believing”. The farmers do the work themselves and see it on the field, so that they can easily get the local knowledge and adopt it on their own field. These demonstrations help the progressive farmers to share their knowledge and expertise with other farmers and inspire them to move forward in agriculture. For the demonstrations, the project director’s office at the district level decides to arrange 125 demonstrations in one acre plot/field in each taluka of the district and a limit of Rs. 4000/- is fixed for providing field material assistance for each demonstration
