The Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) is a pivotal public health initiative by the Government of India, aimed at reducing mortality and morbidity among children and pregnant women due to vaccine-preventable diseases. Launched in 1985, it has become an integral component of the National Health Mission since 2005 .
Free of cost vaccines for BCG, Polio, DPT, OPV, Typhoid, Measles and free Vitamin supplements to pregnant mothers
1) 0-5 year children, 2) Children up to 16 years for TT vaccine
