To secure the financial future of girl children by encouraging parents to save for their education and marriage through a high-interest savings scheme.

Objective

The purpose of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is to encourage parents to save for the future education and marriage expenses of their girl child.

Benefits

Under this scheme, the account can be opened for a girl child by a legal guardian and operate that account till she attains age of 10 years. The interest rate on savings in this account is 8.5% and min. deposite amount in 1 financial year must be INR 1000. Max deposit in such an account cannot exceed INR 1.5 lac. Deposits can be made in account till completion of 14 years.

Eligibility

Only for legal guardian who has girl child who is not yet married and below 21 years of age. In order to open SSY account, please fill up SSY account opening form in any of the government approved partner banks for SSY with following documents: 1) Birth Certificate of girl child, 2) ID Proof, 3) Residence Proof
