Objective

In order to ensure economic stability of the farmer family, accidental insurance scheme has been operationalized by Government of Gujarat since 1996.

Objective

The Farmers Accidental Insurance Scheme provides financial assistance to farmers and their families in case of accidental death or permanent disability.

Benefits

Financial coverage (life insurance) in case of accidental death or disability of farmer

Eligibility

1) Deceased person must be a land owner before the start of the policy i.e. must be a land owner before 31st March of the respective year, 2) Cause of death or disability must be accident, NOTE: Death due to natural causes or suicide are not covered under this scheme

Application Method

In the case of the accidental death of farmer or permanently disability of farmers, successor of the deceased farmer or disabled farmer will apply in prescribed Performa within 90 days from date of deceased death to Nodal officer means respective District Agriculture officer. The applicant must have following documents with application form: 1) Application Form duely filled, 2) Copy of 7/12 certificate, 8-A & Hack Patrak (form 6), 3) Copy of the post mortem report, 4) FIR Report & Spot panchnama police Inquest report or Court Order, 5) Proof of Death (Death certificate) & Age from competent authority, 6) Disability certificate (in case of claim against disability) from competent authority, 7) Sub divisional magistrate report, 8) Indemnity bond in prescribe performa on Rs. 100 Stamp paper, 9) Valid driving license (in case decseased farmer drove a vehicle), 10) Pedhinamu
