The state government provides holistic development schemes for fishery industry as well as protecting the 405 km coastal line of the State of Gujarat. These schemes are aimed to improve the livelihood, security and welfare of the poor fisherman as well as fishing industry as a whole
Construction of new fish ponds
Subsidy ranging from 40 to 60% subsidy on construction of new fish ponds
1) The applicant must have a ownership of land and should have requisite documents to prove it such as 7/12 form, form 8, title/deed of the land etc, 2) If the land is on lease/rent then the rental/lease agreement should be for atleast a duration of 10 years, 3) The applicant must submit requisite income sources/tax returns, 4) The applicant must also submit entire project report for the project to the district fishery department, 5) The construction of the pond should have atleast 0.2 hectar to max. 2 hectare water spread, 6) The pond should have a depth of atleast 1.5 meters, 7) The applicant must submit entire project report with requisite documents to district fishery department and obtain administrative and financial approval from the department before obtaining the benefit of the scheme, 8) The applicant shall obtain cost estimate from registered civil engineer and submit the same along with project report for approval, 9) The benefits will be deposited in the bank account of beneficiary (DBT)
