The programme aims to meet the special development needs of the peiple living in remote and inaccessible areas situated near international border and to saturate the border areas with essential infrastructure through convergence of Central/State/BADP/Local schemes and participatory approach
Construction of basic infrastructure and utilities in rural border areas
The border area development plan is prepared by District Planning Office under leadership of District Collector and Guardian minister of the District. The funds are allocated to identified border districts for developing roads, other supportng infrastructure, toilets, schools, anganwadis, water supply facilities etc. and any other infrastructure for development of village.
The fund is only available to Gram Panchayats which are situated at 0-10 km from international border in any district.
The Gram Panchayat can provide proposals to District Planning Office or Collector for consideration in Border Area Development Plan
