To bridge the gap in availing services of obstetricians and gynecologist, in order to receive emergency obstetric care and institutional delivery in rural areas of the State.It aims to use the potential of a large number of private gynecologists who would provide free yet quality services to poor pregnant women in return for predetermined capitation-based payment from the government.The project envisioned that district level health officials would anchor and implement the project. For this, training in negotiation, consultation and networking were provided to the officials. To address this key vulnerability faced by the BPL population in the Gujarat,Mukhyamantri Amrutam "MA” Yojanawas launched on 4th September, 2012 by Government of Gujarat.

Free Obstetric Care and Out of Pocket Expenses
1) Preganant Women who are APL (Non income tax paying family) or BPL, including tribal women
Approach DDO/CDHO to identify the chiranjeevi affiliated hospitals at district level and obtain application form from any of the chiranjeevi affiliated hospitals. The documents required for application include the following: 1) APL or BPL ration card, 2) Tribal Certificate, 3) Authorization from local recognized authority, 4) Appication form available at the hospital itself
