The objective of the scheme is to: 1) Improve quality of life in the rural areas, 2) Accelerate sanitation coverage in rural areas to achieve the vision of Swachha Bharat by 2019, 3) Motivate communities and PRIs promoting sustainable sanitation facilities through awareness and health education, 4) Cover the remaining schools not covered under SSA and Anganwadi centeres in rural areas for proper sanitation facilities, 5) Encourage cost effective and appropriate technologies for safe and sustainable sanitation, 6) Develop community managed environmental sanitation systems fcusing on SLWM for over all cleanliness in rural areas
Construction of Latrines
INR 12,000 grant to Household in rural areas for construction of latrines
1) The household should be either BPL family or should be the government identified SC/ST APL family, small and marginal farmers, landless labourers with homestead, physically handicapped and women headed household, 2) The person should have already built individual household toilet in the house
The application has to be made online on http://swachhbharaturban.gov.in/ihhl/. The application will require creating individual id with username and password and applying through the above link online. The applicant will require the followng documents with him/her during application: 1) Scanned copy of the applicant photography, 2) Bank account details, 3) Scanned copy of the first page of the bank passbook showing account details. The benefits/funding will be transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account from taluka level.
