Objective

The Handloom and Handicrafts artisans of Cottage industries, Gujarat state require financial assistance for purchase of machinery or raw materials for development of their business. For this, artisans have to depend on financial institutions/private money lenders. Since their interest rates are high, it becomes difficult for the artisans of Cottage industry to sustain themselves in the present market. Under these circumstances, this scheme has been introduced with an aim to provide working capital at low interest rates to the workmen in urban and rural areas registered as artisans with the Indext-C of Cottage and Rural Industries Department.

Benefits

A loan of max INR 1 lakh for purchase of tools/machinary with interest subsidy on loan of 7% along with 20-40% subsidy in complement to the loan

Eligibility

Workmen registered as artisan in urban or rural areas. The Artisan must be issued with identity card by Development Commissioner (Handloom)/Handicrafts/IndextC, the artisan must have skill in handloom or handicraft art

Application Method

Application form filled along with following documents: 1) Aadhar Card/Election Card, 2) Artisan ID Card, 3) Birth Certificate/School Leaving Certificate, 4) Quotation of equipment to be purchased with TIN/VAT number, Proof of location of the business (rent agreement, House tax receipt etc). The application must be submitted to District Industry Center (DIC OR Jilla Udyog Kendra)
