The objective of this scheme is to encourage holistic and sustainable development of village in peaceful manner with social good will and support of Gram Panchayat and villagers
to promote social harmony and peace in villages by recognizing those that meet high standards of development and communal goodwill. Eligible villages are rewarded with a ₹1 lakh financial incentive.
Extra grant of INR 1 lakh to any village selected as Tirth Gram Village
Every year, under leadership of District Collector and District level special committee, Tirth Gram Villages are idenfied and awarded. WHAT IS TIRTH GRAM VILLAGE? A Tirth Gram Village is a village which as no registered crime record for past 5 years, high level of hygiene and sanitation, female development and low drop outs, no communal disputes, No controversy regarding religious sites, SC and ST should have same level of access to village facilities and utilities as the rest of the village does, people of the village should participate in registration of dates for MDM, Strict implementation of eradication of untouchabilityEvery year, under leadership of District Collector and District level special committee, Tirth Gram Villages are idenfied and awarded. There is no application process for this form. The selection of the villages is done under leadership of District Collector.
