To provide support for quality education.
To enable equitable access to quality higher education for minority students with disabilities by reducing financial constraints through concessional loans.
The scheme provides following beneifts to the student of minority communities (religious minorities such as Christian, Muslim, Jain, Buddhist, Parsis): 1) For short term education loan (short courses): A loan of INR 3 lakh, 2) For higher education in India: From INR 2 lakh to INR 10 lakh loan, 3) For higher education in foreign country: From INR 4 lakh up to INR 20 lakh loan (all loans at interest rate of 3% per annum up to max. 60 months time period). For applicant with 40% or more disability can obtain the same benefits but for up to loan of INR 4 lakh, no interest rates
1) the applicant must be from religious minority, 2) The age of the applicant must be between 16 and 32 years, 3) The annual household income fo the applicant must be INR 1,03,000 per annum in urban areas and INR 81,000 per annum in rural areas
