Beneficiary Type: Farmer
To provide financial assistance of ₹200 per quintal (up to ₹50,000) to onion farmers in Gujarat who incurred losses due to a sharp drop in market prices caused by bumper production, ensuring income support and stabilizing farmer livelihoods under the Price Deficiency Payment Scheme, as part of the Market Intervention Scheme.
To compensate onion farmers in Gujarat for income loss caused by a steep fall in market prices. The scheme aims to stabilize farmer income under the Price Deficiency Payment Scheme, as part of the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS), and will be implemented through the i-Khedut 2.0 portal by the Agriculture Department.
Farmers who sold onions in APMCs between April 1 and May 31, 2025, will receive ₹200 per quintal. Assistance will be provided for a maximum of 250 quintals (25,000 kg) of onions per farmer, amounting to a ceiling of ₹50,000. To support this scheme, the state government has allocated ₹124.36 crore, which is expected to benefit around 90,000 farmers across Gujarat.
Farmers who sold onions in APMCs between April 1 and May 31, 2025 If a farmer holds multiple land accounts, the assistance will still be limited to a maximum of 250 quintals across all accounts. If a single land account has multiple co-holders (joint account holders), the total assistance for all co-holders combined will also be limited to a maximum of 250 quintals.
